The BPS of Sragen Regency has carried out the 2021 Village Potential Data Collection (PODES) of Sragen Regency on June 2-30. All villages/kelurahan in Sragen Regency or as many as 208 villages/kelurahan participated in this data collection. By carrying out the 2021 PODES data collection, data for regional development needs can be made available.
Village development must be a priority in national development, in accordance with the mandate of Undang-Undang Number 6 of 2014, Village Development is an effort to improve the quality of life and life for the greatest welfare of the village community. "Building Villages from the Outskirts by strengthening regions and villages within the framework of a unitary state", is the third point of President Jokowi's Nawa Cita. But of course, development will not have the right direction if it is not based on accurate and correct data.
To produce quality data, BPS is still evaluating the 2021 PODES data. Therefore, BPS Kabupaten Sragen again held a PODES evaluation meeting on November 1, 2021 in the big hall.
This activity was opened by the Head of BPS Sragen Regency, Cahyo Kristiono and continued with the evaluation of PODES data by officers both PML and PCL. This time, the PODES evaluation focuses on improving infrastructure data because the 2021 PODES infrastructure directory will be the infrastructure basis for PODES data collection in the coming years. PODES activities have the following objectives:

The purpose of the 2021 PODES data collection is to produce data for regional development purposes, provide data on regional potential, availability of infrastructure, as well as to determine socio-economic conditions in each village/kelurahan. While the specific objectives of PODES 2021 are:
1. Provide data that can support the planning of the 2023 Agricultural Census (ST 2023) activities,
2. As a means for updating the Village Master File (MFD),
3. Provide data on the existence and development of the potential of the village/kelurahan which includes: social, economic, regional facilities and infrastructure,
4. Provide data for the purposes of updating the classification/typology of villages, for example urban-rural, coastal-non-coastal, and so on,
5. As a data source for updating the statistical work area map,
6. Provide basic data for the preparation of small area statistics,
7. Provide data for the preparation of various analyzes such as identification and determination of disadvantaged villages, context variables in PMT, identification of disaster-prone villages, and identification of villages that have geographical difficulties,
8. Provide data for calculating village development/progress indicators.
