Abstract

In September 2019, prices of goods / services for basic needs of the people in Sragen City in general decreased. This can be seen from the decline in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 131.94 in August 2019 to 131.52 in September 2019 or there was a deflation of 0.32 percent
This deflation occurred due to a decline in prices as indicated by a decrease in the index in the foodstuffs group of 2.43 percent. While the education, recreation and sports group experienced an increase in index by 0.45 percent, followed by the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group by 0.36 percent; clothing group by 0,34 percent; and housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.09 percent; and the health group by 0.03 percent, while the transport, communication and financial services group was relatively stable / did not experience price changes.
The dominant commodities contributing to deflation in September are red chili, shallots, purebred chicken, purebred eggs and cayenne peppers. While the commodities holding back the deflation rate are rising prices for filter clove cigarettes, non-foreman artisan wages, kindergartens, carrots, and clove cigarettes.
The calendar year inflation rate (September 2019) was 1.57 percent, while the year on year inflation rate (September 2019 to September 2018) was 2.57 percent, lower compared to 2018 in the same period experiencing inflation of 2, 69 percent.
